Make your career moment at the Inova Heart & Vascular Institute’s Cardiac Surgery Research department. We are dedicated to conducting research on cardiac surgery patients, with a focus on clinical, basic science, and health-related quality of life.
Responsibilities include: creating, implementing and managing a program of biostatistical and epidemiological services that promote research on the clinical and outcomes; preparing analytical methods/results for publication in professional journals and presentations at professional meetings; organizing, interpreting, summarizing and presenting statistical data in a manner which is both clear and amenable to the principles of statistical inference.

Minimum Qualifications: • Master's degree, preferably in Biostatistics or a Bachelor's degree in Biostatistics (Additional experience may be substituted for or considered in lieu of education for the candidate with the required skills) • Professional experience in a research environment • Demonstrated proficiency of SAS and/or similar software • Effective statistical analysis skills, as well as the ability to write, read, interpret/ translate, organize and communicate scientific data and reports • Ability to construct, interpret and clearly communicate information and data furnished in a variety of formats, e.g., written, oral, diagram, or schedule • Strong computer skills including proficiency in MS Word, Excel (e.g., statistical graphing), graphing software, and in medical literature web searches • Ability to operate independently, as well as within a collaborative work environment
