The Mathematics Department at the University of North Texas invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor in statistics with the expected appointment to begin in Fall 2010.
The successful candidate must have an earned PhD degree in statistics or a related field awarded before August 2010. Preferred qualifications are evidence of making a significant contribution in the research of statistical theory, evidence for making a significant contribution in collaborative research with colleagues in other disciplines involving a statistical component (for example, business, science, economics, engineering), and evidence of dedication to effective teaching. We are keenly interested in candidates with broad interests in applied mathematics and related disciplines who will collaborate with other colleagues.
UNT is the largest and most comprehensive university in the north Texas region with 96 bachelor's, 111 master’s and 50 doctoral degree programs. It is the fourth largest university in Texas, with over 36,000 students. UNT is located in Denton in the vibrant and rapidly expanding Dallas/Fort Worth metropolitan area.
