About Us
Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, home of three Nobel laureates, is an independent, nonprofit research institution dedicated to the development and advancement of biomedical research to eliminate cancer and other potentially fatal diseases. Recognized internationally for its pioneering work in bone-marrow transplantation, the Center’s four scientific divisions collaborate to form a unique environment for conducting basic and applied science. The Hutchinson Center, in collaboration with its clinical and research partners, the University of Washington and Children’s Hospital and Regional Medical Center, is the only National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center in the Pacific Northwest. Join us and make a difference.
About the Department
The Women’s Health Initiative (WHI) is seeking a Statistical Research Associate (SRA) to join the Population Architecture using Genomics and Epidemiology (PAGE) consortium. The WHI is one of the largest and most comprehensive studies of women’s health. Our studies’ results have been published in the top medical journals and have had significant impact on women’s health. The WHI is designed to investigate strategies for the prevention and control of some of the most common causes of morbidity and mortality among postmenopausal women, including cancer, cardiovascular disease and osteoporotic fractures.
About the Project
Population Architecture using Genomics and Epidemiology (PAGE) is a National Human Genome Research Institute funded consortium that tries to investigate the epidemiologic architecture of putative genuine genetic variants, as deterimined by other studies, in tens of thousands of subjects within WHI and several other cohorts within the consortium.
We are seeking a master’s-level biostatistician or statistician to support our team as a Statistical Research Associate (SRA). The SRA will join the WHI coordinating center. The SRA will work directly with the investigators of PAGE, as well as staff in the WHI coordinating center to manage high dimensional data sets, implement quality control procedures, assist in determining optimum statistical study designs, perform data analyses, and support the development and implementation of novel statistical methods. Furthermore, the person will prepare written summaries and table of results, document statistical analysis, and assist with manuscript preparation.
