Job Description
Biostatistician (Statistical Research Associate III) (AD-22714)

About the Department

The Epidemiology Program seeks to determine the causes of cancers through studies in human populations of personal exposures, behavioral characteristics, and genes that may influence a person’s chances of developing one or more cancers.

The Epidemiology Program is seeking a master’s-level biostatistician or statistician to support our team as a Statistical Research Associate (SRA). The SRA will be responsible for performing a variety of statistical support services for epidemiologic research studies in the area of esophageal and related cancers. Scope of Responsibilities The SRA III works independently to develop analytic data sets, develop data quality assurance plans, conduct statistical analyses, document data sets and analytic programs and write up results.

Job Duties

May include some or all of the following:

1. Provide statistical analysis of project data.

2. Prepare written summaries and tables of results for use in project reports and scientific papers.

3. Assist investigators in the design of appropriate analyses.

4. Take primary responsibility for the statistical aspects of protocol development and implementation and/or scientific committee work.

5. Participate in the design of data collection, management, and analysis plans.

6. Develop, coordinate, and evaluate quality assurance procedures for on-going data collection and analysis.

7. Perform statistical analyses using packaged statistical programs.

8. Evaluate new statistical software.

9. Provide statistical consultation with collaborating staff and students.

10. Assist in developing grant applications.

11. Perform other duties as necessary.

Requirements
The SRA III position requires a Masters degree in Biostatistics or Epidemiology, a minimum of three years of related experience, good verbal and written communication skills, and proficiency with STATA and/or SAS.
