City of Hope is recruiting an experienced statistician for a funded, non-tenure track faculty appointment to support clinical trials and pre-clinical research in the newly created Hematology Institute. This will be a joint appointment in Hematology and Biostatistics in the Research Professor series, at a rank consistent with qualifications and experience.
Experience in Hematology or Oncology.
Experience analyzing biomarker data.
Knowledge of clinical trials designs and issues in personalized medicine.
Ability to document repeatable analyses in R and/or SAS
Generally, the successful applicant will contribute to the Hematology Institute research agenda through collaborative and independent research.
Major activities will include:
Contributing to science through collaborative and independent research publications;
Serving as statistician on preclinical research projects, and clinical trial protocols;
Creating computer code documenting research conclusions following principles of reproducible research;
Development of novel statistical methodologies to address needs of the research program;
Delivering talks on research results;
Maintaining current knowledge of and contributing to advancements in the field through participation in professional organizations, scientific conferences, reading the relevant scientific literature, and publication of research findings.
Doctorate in applied biostatistics/statistics or similar field.
Experience in designing and analyzing clinical trials, including co-authoring grant proposals, protocols and peer-reviewed publications.
Ability to support broad pre-clinical research.
Excellent computing skills and a publication record documenting both self-directed and collaborative research.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
