The University of Chicago's Biological Sciences Division (BSD) invites applications for multiple faculty positions with a substantial research focus in any area relevant to biomedical data science. Applicants will be evaluated based on the overall originality of their research and the potential of that research to advance their field(s). The University of Chicago has embarked on a multi-year effort to significantly expand its activities in data science and its applications to problems in biology, medicine, and health care. Candidates in all areas of biomedical data science, computational biology and biomedicine, machine learning, data-driven discovery, and related areas are invited to apply.
Primary appointments will be in a BSD department or in a department in another academic division of the University, with the opportunity for secondary appointments with other academic units at the University of Chicago, including the departments of Statistics or Computer Science, and with our affiliates, such as Argonne National Laboratory and Marine Biological Laboratory.
Academic rank will be commensurate with accomplishments. Primary departmental appointments will be determined on the area(s) of research focus and mutual interest between the candidate and the home department. Applicants must have a PhD, MD, or equivalent terminal degree.
To be considered, those interested must submit a curriculum vitae and a research statement including accomplishments and future plans online at the University of Chicago's Academic Career Opportunities website at http://tinyurl.com/BSDDataScientists. Review of applications will continue until all positions are filled.
