The Department of Mathematics and Physics invites applications for a full-time faculty position in statistics. The position involves teaching at the undergraduate and/or graduate level, depending on interests and skills; preference will be given to those with ability to teach business analytics courses. The opportunity also exists to serve as program director for the newly developed M.S. in Applied Statistics and Analytics. Currently, the department has 11 full-time faculty members serving more than 60 mathematics and physics majors and 30 minors. In addition to the new master’s program, the department also has a new undergraduate minor in applied statistics and offers several general education courses including Introduction to Statistics.
Teach courses, develop new courses and possibly direct programs in statistics or related fields, maintain an active research program involving students, mentor and advise students, and participate in department and university affairs. Engage in ongoing professional development (e.g., seminars and conferences) to stay current with cutting-edge methodologies.
Level: Open rank (Assistant, Associate, Full Professor)
A Ph.D. in statistics or a related discipline.
Demonstrated potential for teaching excellence.

An interest in helping students to integrate their faith and their studies.
All candidates should have experience teaching statistics at the university level, along with demonstrated leadership ability if interested in directing the program. The ideal candidate will have an active research program, relevant experience which could lead to establishing industry, government or health care organization partners, and/or experience in successful academic program development.
Workload: Full-time; up to 24 units of teaching per academic year.

Ability to engage in critical thinking and exercise independent judgment.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage confidential information.
Self-starter, ability to communicate effectively in written and oral form.
