Assistant/Associate/Full Professor - Public Health

The Department of Public Health at the University of Massachusetts Lowell seeks a full-time tenure-track faculty member with expertise and research interests in population health, health promotion, health interventions, health equity, and/or health and social policy. The successful candidate will be appointed at the assistant, associate, or full professor level, depending upon qualifications.
The Department of Public Health is located in the Zuckerberg College of Health Sciences, a dynamic, growing college that prepares professionals and scientists in a wide range of health science fields including applied, clinical and translational areas. A large research program and vibrant community partnerships and engagement opportunities enrich and support our educational programs. The successful candidate will work with internal collaborators in all departments of Zuckerberg College, with faculty in other colleges at UMass Lowell, and with external academic practice/research/industry partners.
Candidates should have a successful track record or show significant potential to procure extramural funding to support their research programs. The area of research interests is flexible but ideally will interface with disciplines represented within the college including health equity and social determinants of health, and intervention and translational research on any chronic disease or related content area. Emphasis will be placed on individuals with experience working in interdisciplinary teams.
We seek applicants recognized for teaching excellence, scholarly productivity, ability to work with diverse populations, and excellent oral and written communication skills in English. The interest in and ability to teach both undergraduate and graduate courses in public health and in the disciplines represented within the college is a requirement. Faculty are engaged in service to the college as required.
Minimum Qualifications (Required):
A doctoral degree in public health or other related health sciences field
The ability to work effectively with diverse groups
Strong record of research and publication
Evidence of ability to develop an independent research program and secure extramural funding
Assistant professor candidates must have a research program with a strong likelihood of funding
Associate/full professor candidates must have a strong record of research in a currently tenured position with a record of extramural research support
Experience in fostering interdisciplinary research initiatives
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) in English
Discipline-specific teaching experience preferred
