The George Mason University Department of Statistics (http://statistics.gmu.edu/), on the Fairfax, VA, campus, is seeking candidates for an open rank tenure-track or tenured faculty. Conduct independent and collaborative research, teach (primarily at the graduate level), and mentor doctoral students. Participate fully in the intellectual life of the department, and in the building of the department’s reputation in research and academics.
The candidate must have a Ph.D. in statistics or a closely related field by the start date of the position, be prepared to conduct independent and collaborative research, and teach and mentor at the advanced graduate level. At senior ranks the candidates must have a demonstrated record of research and funding. Special consideration will be given to candidates in the area of data analytics, in particular, health analytics.
The Department of Statistics houses 16 full-time faculty. It offers three M.S. degrees: Statistical Science, Biostatistics, and Data Analytics Engineering Concentration Statistics; and a Ph.D. degree in Statistical Science.
