The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Wright State University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in statistics at the rank of assistant professor starting Fall 2017. Candidates from any area of statistics will be considered. Preference will be given to candidates who can contribute to the department’s new programs in the areas of data science, statistical finance, or actuarial science. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in statistics or a related field (anticipated completion of all requirements by August, 2017).
The department offers an undergraduate major in Statistics, has a Master’s program in Applied Statistics, and is a major participating unit in an Interdisciplinary Applied Science and Mathematics PhD program.
To apply candidates should submit a cover letter, vita, a personal statement that addresses research and teaching, and arrange for three letters of recommendation at least one of which should speak to the candidate’s teaching experience.
