The Data Analyst & Statistical Programmer role is to provide analytical support for research and consulting projects for government and private clients, primarily in the area of health policy. This position is responsible for managing and analyzing data, researching and interpreting policy, and communicating findings to multiple audiences. Analysts perform a wide array of functions as part of the research process. Those applicants interested in statistical programming will help create and report descriptive statistics, conduct econometric and statistical analyses of data using software such as SAS and STATA, and develop research files from large confidential datasets. This is a full-time, exempt position.
PCG is headquartered in Redwood City, California. Candidates from the SF Bay Area, Washington DC and Boston metropolitan areas, as well as Research Triangle, NC will be considered. Please do not apply if youare in another location.
The best candidates have the following qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as mathematics, statistics, economics or related experience
Always at the top of the class in working with numbers, accuracy and demonstrating quantitative analytical skills
Good oral and written communication skills with experience working on a team
Ability to organize work, deliver to tight deadlines and act with a client focus
Experience using organizational skills and strong attention to detail
Familiar with one or more of the following technical competencies: statistics, programming, policy writing, research methods documentation, or project management
Can demonstrate initiative, critical thinking, problem-solving and enthusiasm for learning
Familiarity with STATA, SAS or other programming software
Real interest in economics, econometrics, health policy, social policy
Master's degree in a quantitative, public policy, or related field
Previous relevant experience designing and executing healthcare or economic analysis
One or more years using SAS in the context of running regular and ad hoc reports
