Assistant Scientist, Population Research
The Center for Health Outcomes and Population Research invites applications for Assistant Scientist level faculty positions within Sanford Research in Sioux Falls, SD. Sanford Research is the non-profit research branch under Sanford Health, the largest, rural, not-for-profit health care system in the nation with a presence in 120 communities in eight states and three countries. Founded in 2006, the Center for Health Outcomes and Population Research (CHOPR) is the public health and social/behavioral sciences arm of Sanford Research. CHOPR has considerable federal funding, with projects focused in maternal-child, American Indian, and rural population health.
Plans, coordinates, implements and conducts independent scientific research. Provides leadership and supervision in chosen research area. Analyzes and evaluates findings. Organizes and conceptualizes ideas leading to grant proposals. Writes summary reports and peer-reviewed publications. Prepares and makes formal presentations of research results. Is considered the principal investigator on grants. Is established as co-author or senior author of proposals, journal articles and technical reports. High level of knowledge in scientific research processes, procedures, and objectives. Must possess ability to implement experiments in the subject discipline with the ability to trouble shoot issues. Good knowledge of the principles and techniques of the subject discipline required. Possesses ability to run complex pieces of equipment requiring advanced specialized training. Must possess knowledge of modern research methods, data collection and analysis. Must have significant experience in analyzing and evaluating data. General level of knowledge of project management, decision-making, and analytical skills. Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of collaborative research group or team.
