Valdosta State University’s Department of Mathematics seeks applicants for a tenure track, Assistant Professor position, in the area of Applied Statistics in Data Science. All Valdosta State University faculty share the responsibility of teaching courses at multiple levels as needed in their respective disciplines. To carry out our comprehensive mission, we seek faculty with the desire and ability to successfully engage students as they launch or continue their intellectual journey.
Responsibilities include teaching and developing undergraduate courses, conducting an active research agenda, and providing service to the Department, College, University, and regional business community. The undergraduate teaching areas include high level mathematics. Undergraduate course development includes statistics courses in data science and development of a statistics minor. Some graduate level teaching and service may be assigned.
