The Study Design and Biostatistics Center (SDBC) in the Division of Epidemiology at the University of Utah is seeking a biostatistician to carry out statistical analyses in collaboration with clinical and translational investigators in the areas of Congenital Heart Disease and/or Pediatric Acquired Heart Disease. The successful candidate will be a PhD level Biostatistician who works effectively in a group setting in areas of design of data collection instruments, study design, statistical programming, analysis of data, statistical graphics and writing of reports which include explanations of methods used and interpretations of results obtained. Experience working with administrative datasets and multicenter registry (including medical billing datasets, state vital records and environmentally and spatially explicit datasets, datasets from clinical registries (including Centripitus, IMPACT), and NIH public use datasets; and experience with the analysis of population-level and genetic epidemiological study designs is expected and experience with advanced methodologies such as modeling and simulations is desired. Applicants must be organized, attentive to detail and timely in their work. Focus areas of SDBC and Population Health Research faculty include the design of clinical trials and observational studies, longitudinal analysis, survival analysis, epidemiologic modeling, Bayesian analysis, modern causal inference, analysis of biomarkers, statistical genetics and genomics, computational statistics, health economics, methods for the design and conduct of systematic reviews, structural equations models, and qualitative research.
