The College of Science and Humanities at Husson University invites applications for a full-time, ranked faculty position in Applied Statistics to begin in fall 2017. Teaching responsibilities include 12 credit hours per semester of statistics courses at the general education level, as well as upper level courses.
The appropriate candidate will contribute to development and implementation of a data sciences major and provide support for ongoing growth in the mathematics department offerings. Faculty in the College of Science and Humanities have an established culture of incorporating undergraduate students into research projects and/or providing experiential learning opportunities for its majors. The successful candidate will exhibit interest and experience in bringing real-world data projects to students. All ranked faculty are expected to fulfill institutional expectations of teaching, scholarship, advising, and service.
Requirements for the position include an earned doctorate in Applied Statistics, Biostatistics, or an associated field. ABD will be considered. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to effective teaching and student learning, as well as the ability to collaborate across disciplines to develop outstanding educational opportunities for students. Preference will be given to applicants with experience teaching and mentoring student research at the undergraduate level or industry experience.
