The candidate will devote full time effort to a large, NIMH-funded randomized trial of mental health treatment for primary care patients with depression and trauma-related disorders in a public sector setting of Sub-Saharan Africa. The candidate will be responsible for creating an electronic data entry system, programming tablets, building an internal study database, monitoring study data, compiling data files and completing basic statistical analyses. The candidate will work under the supervision of a senior PhD statistician who is a co-investigator on the study to perform more elaborate analyses, including multiple imputation, mediation analyses, relative risk regression and analyses for sequential multiple assignment randomized trials. This project is funded for five years.

Expertise with standard statistical packages, such as R, STATA and SAS. STATA required.
Two or more years of experience in applied statistical analyses of prospective data, including longitudinal data, survival analysis, and approaches to missing data. Experience with statistical analysis of clinical trial data is strongly preferred.

Excellent oral and written communication skills
The position is based in SF bay area. We will consider remote positions (e.g., working from outside the SF bay area), but periodic in-person meetings in SF would be required and candidate’s track record should demonstrate responsiveness and productivity in remote work positions.
Interest in global health and ability to travel to Kenya for ~ 1 week 1-2 times per year is a plus
