The University of Florida Health Cancer Center (UFHCC) invites applications for a biostatistician. The position reports directly to the Director of the UFHCC Division of Quantitative Sciences and Biostatistics Shared Resource.
Position Title: Master’s Level Biostatistician
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide biostatistical support to cancer center members.
Conduct appropriate statistical analysis under the supervision of faculty biostatisticians.
Design, test, implement, validate & document statistical computer programming in high level statistical software packages including SAS and R.
Reproducible data analysis programming skills.
Write summary reports and create graphs for manuscripts and research proposals
Degree Required: A minimum Master’s degree in biostatistics or statistics.
Years of Experience Required: 1-2 years as a data analyst working in a team-oriented research environment.
Specific Job Requirements:
Master’s degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, Computer Science or related field as well as 1-2 years as a data analyst working in a team-oriented research environment;
Diverse skills in data management, programming, and statistical methods;
SAS and R experience essential, additional programming experience preferred (e.g., SPSS, Stata, Excel, Python, C++ Language);
Ability to work independently, take initiative, manage time and work with minimal supervision;
Ability to analyze problems and make sound judgments;
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing;
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
