Senior Biostatistician/Non-Tenure Research Faculty

The Department of Anesthesiology/Critical Care Medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine is seeking an innovative and highly motivated PhD-level biostatistician to lead the analytics group of our Clinical Research Core. The applicant will collaborate with physicians, data scientists, and other research personnel on a variety of clinical and laboratory-based projects, including intervention trials, observational cohorts, cross sectional analyses, and case control studies. Numerous projects focus on use of the electronic health record (EHR) to stratify risk, accelerate diagnosis, and/or create novel treatment paradigms to improve clinical outcomes for children and adults with critical illness, traumatic injury, surgery, and acute and chronic pain. The applicant will have the opportunity to lead research projects, develop novel analytic approaches, and to teach statistical designs/methods to trainees and junior faculty.
Collaborate with investigators on research projects with primary responsibility for study design and statistical analysis
Execute complex statistical analyses involving multi-level modeling, including regression, Bayesian, and longitudinal approaches
Develop new AI/Statistical methods to analyze EHR data
Prepare statistical reports, fact sheets, conference presentations, and other dissemination materials
Contribute to writing manuscripts and grant proposals
Contribute to education of trainees and junior faculty
Doctoral degree in Biostatistics or related field
Experience working with EHR, omics, or other “big data” sets is preferred
