The Department of Statistics and Probability at Michigan State University (MSU) invites applications for a fixed-term faculty position focused on teaching and course development, with an anticipated start date of August 16, 2019.
Successful candidates will teach both undergraduate and master’s courses in statistics and probability, will work with multi-disciplinary teams to develop and coordinate courses, will mentor and supervise graduate assistants and instructors, and will join a large and active group of teaching faculty focused on excellence in instruction in the mathematical sciences. Depending on candidate expertise and interests, teaching courses in the Actuarial Science and Quantitative Risk Analysis Programs may also be part of the position.
This is a one-year position, with likely renewal assuming excellent performance.
Candidates must have a master’s or PhD degree in statistics, mathematics, or a related field, demonstrated instructional excellence in undergraduate statistics, and knowledge of or experience with student-centered pedagogical methods.
