We invite applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning 07/01/2020. Requires a Ph.D. in Statistics or a related field. All areas of statistics will be considered. Individuals specializing in statistical methods for large and complex or massive data are especially encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to those specializing in data science and machine learning.

A Ph.D. in Statistics or a related area is required. Candidates must possess (or demonstrate the potential to achieve) a strong record in the areas of research, teaching, and service. Candidates must also possess the ability to teach all lower-division statistics courses, upper-division core courses in statistics, and graduate level statistics courses, and to be strongly committed to providing service to the department, university, and statistics communities.

The Department of Statistics is an academic department within the College of Letters and Science at the University of California, Davis. the Department has active undergraduate and graduate programs. Current we have 21 faculty, 170 graduate students (offering both Masters and Ph.D. programs) and 635 declared undergraduate majors. Davis is a college community, centrally located between the San Francisco Bay Area and the Sierra Nevada mountains.
