The Department of Statistics at Colorado State University invites applications for a tenured or tenure-track faculty position at the rank of assistant or associate professor with negotiable starting date as early as fall 2020. As a regular tenure-track faculty position in the department, this position comes with nine months of academic year full-time support. A Ph.D. in statistics, biostatistics, or a related field and a commitment to high–quality research in statistics and excellence in teaching are required. We seek a strong and experienced candidate to advance the statistical component of multidisciplinary research for CSU’s new Translational Medicine Institute (TMI) in the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. The TMI will develop biologic therapies for human and veterinary medicine, drawing on established areas of CSU research expertise in orthopedics, biomedical engineering, immunology, infectious disease, surgical advances, and other medical fields. This position will have an academic home in the Department of Statistics and requires a strong commitment to advancing the interdisciplinary research and education mission of the TMI. Candidates with research interests and applied expertise in innovative clinical trials are particularly encouraged to apply. Demonstrated potential for excellence in collaborative research, demonstrated ability to communicate to various audiences, and experience in identifying and securing funds from diverse sources are expected, as is the proven ability to teach advanced disciplinary or interdisciplinary courses. Required qualifications include three years collaborative statistics experience. Preferred qualifications include experience in clinical trials work, demonstrated interpersonal and teamwork skills, and strong organizational and project management skills. Proven ability or demonstrated strong potential to mentor PhD students is also preferred.
