The Department of Statistics at Western Michigan University seeks candidates for a tenure-track, academic year, Faculty Specialist I position in Statistics, beginning in the fall semester of 2020, pending budgetary approval.
The position requires a PhD degree in Statistics awarded by August 1, 2020. We are seeking candidates with experience in teaching multi-section business statistics courses using the newest technology. In addition to teaching (in the classroom and online) successful candidate will be supervising about 10 graduate teaching assistants, who teach other sections of the course, and will be responsible for statistics tutor lab staffing and operations. Occasionally, the successful candidate will be asked to teach a graduate course(s) such as multivariate statistics or survival analysis. The successful candidate will also demonstrate a strong commitment to supporting the success of students from underrepresented groups.
