McGovern Medical School at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth), a leading academic health science center, invites applications for a full-time Assistant or Associate Professor faculty position in the Division of Clinical and Translational Sciences within the Department of Internal Medicine.
The selected candidate will contribute to the department’s and the division’s mission by collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of biostatisticians, epidemiologists, bioinformaticians, and clinicians at UTHealth through research, teaching, and other services.
Key responsibilities for this position include, but not limited to: 1) collaboration and consultation with faculty on study design and analytic methods for research proposals and current research projects; 2) teaching biostatistics to clinicians and health researchers; and 3) preparation of grants, reports and manuscripts. A cross-appointment in the departments of Biostatistics and Data Science as well as in Epidemiology at The University of Texas School of Public Health at Houston may be considered.
Qualifications: Qualified applicants must have (or expect to have by the time a job offer is made) a PhD in Statistics, Biostatistics, or Bioinformatics, and demonstrate a commitment to excellence in research, education, and service, and have potential to be outstanding in their field of expertise, and share an interest in fulfilling the common goals of McGovern Medical School at UTHealth. Qualified candidates should have experience with writing, editing and submitting NIH-style grants.
