The Staff Statistician / Biostatistician for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics designs, plans and executes biostatistical analysis for research and development projects that establish the conditions crucial for determining safety, efficacy, and marketability of in-vitro diagnostic (IVD) products. This position is part of the Biostatistics team and will be located in Chaska, MN.
The Staff Biostatistician develops and/or applies statistical theories, methods, and software. May collaborate in the production of the study protocols, and the collection, management and/or reporting of data. Develops automated data analysis reports. Develops and employs computational tools to analyze biological data.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Perform statistical analysis and prepares summaries of analytical data for use by regulatory agencies or project teams in order to evaluate the performance of new and improved products.
Lead identification of aspects of experimental design that will measure the effectiveness and utility of the clinical chemistry and immunoassay products or processes being investigated.
Design and analyze studies for product characterization in feasibility and test method validation to support product design transfer from R&D to manufacturing.
Communicate sophisticated statistical and technical concepts to internal and external partners.
Write documented and validated statistical programs for analysis and reporting.
Stay current on changes, innovations, and trends in statistics, medicine, through networking, studying and contributing to publications and/or presentations.
Collaborate with multiple functions across geographies required.
Provide training and support to scientists and engineers in statistical techniques and software tools.
The essential requirements of the job include:
Master’s degree with 7+ years of relevant experience or PhD with 4+ years of relevant experience. Graduate degree in Statistics or Biostatistics preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Willingness and ability to learn new techniques and applications
Proficiency with R software required
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
Specific expertise in variance components estimation, regression analysis, repeated measures analysis, Design of Experiments (DOE), and sample size calculations
Experience in bootstrap and Monte Carlo simulation techniques
Experience with JMP, SAS, Minitab, Excel software
Relational database experience, including SQL and Oracle
