The Department of Biostatistics and Bioinformatics at the Rollins School of Public Health of Emory University (https://www.sph.emory.edu/departments/bios/index.html) is recruiting one research track faculty member at the Assistant Professor level. The individual will work as a member of productive biostatistics teams that include biostatistics faculty, staff, and students. The primary duties will be collaborative biostatistics research and the teaching of graduate-level biostatistics courses. We particularly seek individuals with an interest in and ability to successfully collaborate with clinicians and scientists on diverse research projects as part of a multidisciplinary team. In addition, individuals should have a strong commitment to mentoring biostatistics master’s and doctoral students as well as non-biostatistics trainees, fellows, and junior faculty.
Experience with complex, large, longitudinal studies and providing biostatistical leadership through refining research questions, determining the appropriate study design, and developing statistical analysis plans preferred. In addition, previous research or interest in the areas of women’s health and/or HIV is preferred.

The department includes 35 faculty members currently supported by a wide range of external funding, as Principal Investigators, Core Directors, and Co-investigators. Faculty engage in diverse methodological research areas with specific motivation from an equally broad array of public health focus areas, including Alzheimer’s disease, infectious diseases, cancer, cardiovascular and renal disease, epidemiological surveillance, and environmental and mental health. The department participates in the Georgia Clinical and Translational Science Alliance, serves as the Data Coordinating Center for several NIH clinical trials, and operates the Biostatistics Collaborative Core. The department offers a doctoral graduate program in Biostatistics from the Laney Graduate School of Arts and Science and master’s degree programs in Biostatistics and Public Health Informatics from the Rollins School of Public Health.
