Tenure-Track Faculty Position in Biostatistics
The Department of Environmental and Public Health Sciences (DEPHS), University of Cincinnati, College of Medicine (UCCOM), is expanding the biostatistics group within the Division of Biostatistics and Bioinformatics. We are seeking exceptional candidates to fill a tenure-track position at the Assistant/Associate Professor level. Academic rank will be commensurate with credentials and experience.
Candidates must have a PhD in Biostatistics, Statistics, Applied Statistics, or a related field. Senior level applicants should have an established record of excellence in independent methodological research and collaborative biomedical research, teaching and mentoring. Junior level applicants should have strong potential for methodological and collaborative research, teaching and mentoring. All applicants should have excellent communication skills.
The Department has PhD and MS programs in Biostatistics and a MPH program with a concentration in Biostatistics; PhD and MS programs in Epidemiology; Environmental Genetics and Molecular Toxicology; and Environmental and Occupational Hygiene; a residency program in Occupational Medicine; and an MS degree in Clinical and Translational Research. The appointee will be expected to participate in graduate and post-doctoral training, and to provide service to the department and the College. Graduate students in Biostatistics programs are supported by NIEHS funded T32 programs and NIOSH funded T42 programs.
New faculty will find an outstanding environment for conducting both methodological and collaborative research within the department as well as in the UCCOM, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center (CCHMC), and Cincinnati Veteran’s Hospital. The appointee will have the opportunity to become a member of the NIH funded Center for Environmental Genetics, Center for Clinical and Translational Science and Training, and the University of Cincinnati Cancer Center. These Centers and strong research programs offer supportive environment to conduct state-of-the-art epidemiologic, basic, translational, and clinical research, and offer numerous interdisciplinary collaborative opportunities.
The UCCOM with CCHMC forms a rapidly growing and vibrant center for biomedical research, with over $360 million annually in extramural research support. The Department of Environmental and Public Health Sciences has been consistently ranked among the top departments among its peers, and has a successful record of interdisciplinary research.
