The Department of Biostatistics at University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate to focus on statistical methods research on disease progression modeling. The candidate is expected to work with Professor Ying Zhang’s research team to develop innovative statistical methods to better understand the progression of Huntington disease for predicting the disease onset of premanifest individuals. The candidate will be provided opportunity in teaching biostatistics courses and engaging in interdisciplinary research at UNMC campus.
Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Required Qualifications-Applicants must have completed all the requirements for their doctoral degree in either Biostatistics or Statistics by June 30, 2021. A graduate transcript and three references are required.
Supplemental Qualifications-Applicants with expertise in longitudinal data analysis/survival analysis/joint modeling/causal inference are strongly preferred.
Funding is available for two years.

Founded in 2007 and first accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH) in 2011, the UNMC College of Public Health offers a wide range of programs and degrees such as certificate programs, the Master of Public Health, the Master of Science, the Doctor of Philosophy, and the Doctor of Public Health to provide students with a comprehensive, well- rounded education in public health. The College of Public Health has recently seen record growth in enrollment and research opportunity with 52.8% increase in student enrollment for Fall 2020 and 28.4% increase in extramural funding in 2020-2021. One of five academic units in the College of Public Health, the Department of Biostatistics has also grown significantly in recent years. The Department currently has 13 faculty members and 7 master level statisticians and offers Ph.D in Biostatistics, Master of Public Health with concentration in Biostatistics, a Graduate Certificate in Biostatistics. The Department is expecting to start the Master of Science program in Biostatistics in the Fall 2021 to become a full-fledged graduate program in Biostatistics.
