The College of Health Solutions (CHS) at Arizona State University (ASU) is seeking a full-time Lecturer for an academic (9-month)  position to teach biostatistics, applied statistics, and related courses at the undergraduate and graduate level, and to provide services in the Biostatistics Core to support CHS faculty and students.  The anticipated start date is Fall 2021.  This is a non-tenure track teaching position.  Faculty duties include teaching, with the possibility that some courses may be online [60%, equivalent to 9 credits (typically three courses) per semester]; analytical research support, i.e., providing assistance in conducting statistical analyses, and data processing and management for faculty and students (20%); and service to CHS, ASU and relevant degrees (20%).  Applicants must present evidence of teaching experience, a strong commitment to high quality teaching at undergraduate level, and strong analytical skills. This is a fixed-term appointment that is renewable annually.  Subsequent one-year appointments may be offered, under the same terms and conditions, at the discretion of the college and university.  

This position will work with faculty across the college to address our Grand Challenges, complex and difficult health problems which require transformative collaboration, translational research and innovation. Through teaching, academic programs, service and research, the college is focused on these Grand Challenges: Addressing the systems of health care and the health needs of populations, and optimizing health and human performance of individuals across the lifespan. Required Qualifications 

• MS/MPH or PhD/DrPH degree in a field appropriate to the duties, such as Biostatistics, Statistics, or related field.
• Teaching experience with on-campus and/or online format at undergraduate and/or graduate level.
• Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively with a diverse group of students, colleagues, and staff.

Desired Qualifications 

• Experience with quantitative research analysis, methodologies and best practices.
• Demonstrated proficiency in statistical software, e.g., R, SPSS, SAS or STATA. 
• Evidence of collaboration within an interdisciplinary team that includes staff, faculty, students, and clinicians.
• Experience with developing undergraduate and graduate courses in biostatistics.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor and advise students. 
• Demonstrated ability to provide service to the program and university, as well as to the community and profession.
