Biomedical Informatics Division Director

Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center (CCHMC) is seeking candidates for Division Chief of the Division of Biomedical Informatics. We are seeking candidates with expertise in areas such as computational biology, systems biology, bioinformatics, clinical informatics, statistical genetics, and/or precision medicine. Possible research areas include, but are not limited to, developing statistical/computational methods for analysis of genomics and clinical data, integrated analysis of next-generation sequencing and ‘omics data, analysis and modeling of biological networks, rare variant analysis of complex disorders, and discovery of genetic interactions in genome-wide studies. Responsibilities include establishing an independent research program in methodological and collaborative research focused on pediatric medicine, actively participating in the Division’s educational mission and graduate programs, and synergizing with the IT program and services within the Department of Pediatrics. Additionally, the Director will be expected to develop and implement a strategy for technology support of networks. A successful candidate will be expected to serve as a strong leader for advising one or more of the Division’s service units, mentoring junior and mid-career faculty as well as trainees, and leading key administrative projects within the Division.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. and/or M.D. in life or data sciences or a related field. Applicants must have a distinguished national/international academic record of bioinformatics, computational biology, or data science research. Candidates should possess leadership skills, administrative expertise, and a demonstrated commitment to and record of education and mentorship of students, fellows, and faculty. The applicant must have skills suitable to foster strong collaborations among investigators within the Division as well as the larger CCHMC research community on campus. |
