The Department of Statistics at Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon seeks applicants with research interests in any area of statistics for two tenure-track positions at the assistant professor level. We are especially interested in energetic and creative statisticians with a broad range of interests in theoretically sound methodological and collaborative research, and an enthusiasm for teaching and mentoring graduate students. Qualified applicants will have a PhD in Statistics or a closely related field by the start of the appointment in September, 2023.
The positions involve:
Teaching the equivalent of four quarter courses per year, primarily graduate-level courses in Statistics and Data Science
Developing a vibrant cross-disciplinary research program with collaborations among College of Science faculty
Seeking grant and contract funding
Mentoring MS and PhD students
Fostering an environment of inclusion and diversity
Providing service to the department and institution in support of their missions
We are a collegial department consisting of 14 tenure-track professors with a variety of research interests, four instructors, approximately 15 PhD students, and 20 MS students. In addition to our on-campus graduate programs in Statistics, we offer a popular on-line MS program in Data Analytics.
