The Division of Biostatistics (DoB) at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) and the Center for International Blood and Marrow Transplant Research (CIBMTR), seek an outstanding biostatistician with a track record of peer-reviewed, transplant and cell therapy-focused funding and strong leadership skills to serve as the Chief Statistical Director of the CIBMTR. Qualified applicants will be considered for a tenure track Associate or Full Professor position in the DOB.
CIBMTR The CIBMTR is a premier international research organization advancing hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT) and cellular therapy (CT) to improve survival and quality of life for patients with malignant and non-malignant diseases. The CIBMTR conducts observational and interventional research through scientific and statistical expertise, a large network of transplant centers, and a unique and extensive clinical outcomes database of more than 600,000 patients worldwide. CIBMTR has a team of highly qualified biostatistical faculty and analysts with complementary expertise in statistical methods who provide the CIBMTR and transplant community with outstanding support. CIBMTR faculty develop novel methodologic approaches to address emerging analytic challenges in the analysis of HCT and CT studies, and ensure use of state-of-the-art statistical methods in CIBMTR research.

The DoB has 14 faculty members with diverse areas of expertise who are involved with a number of collaborative research groups across campus. They have a successful and long-standing PhD program in Biostatistics as well as a new master’s program in Biostatistics and Data Science. The DoB is located within the MCW Institute for Health and Equity (IHE), which additionally has talented and diverse faculty in a range of public and community health research specialties.
Candidate Qualifications
The successful candidate must have a doctoral degree in statistics or biostatistics with a strong background in methodologic and collaborative research relevant to transplant and cell therapy studies. Primary responsibilities include conducting grant-funded methodological research, providing statistical leadership to the CIBMTR including its team of Biostatistics faculty supporting the CIBMTR, working on the design and analysis of CIBMTR research studies, assisting in developing extramural grant applications in collaboration with CIBMTR investigators, and participating in the DoB graduate education programs in biostatistics and data science.
