Lead Analyst, EverQuote, Inc., Cambridge, MA: will analyze the data from our constantly changing online platform which allows consumers to compare automobile insurance rates nationwide across various insurance providers. As an independent insurance marketplace, EverQuote relies on our Senior Quantitative Analysts to constantly analyze pricing, sales, marketing and other insurance and customer data for both individual customers and insurance agencies. Will apply analytical skills to find trends in the company’s large datasets which are constantly being updated. Responsibilities include: Reporting on and taking action on findings to allow for company to see immediate results, adding revenue to the business; Applying analysis and mathematical modeling and optimization methods to understand consumer behavior; Reviewing consumer feedback and dialogue throughout the entirety of a purchase lifecycle and beyond; Responsible for the quantitative marketing campaign design, management and optimization; Analyzing performance metrics to drive growth in traffic, revenue and profit; Analyzing large data sets for trend analysis, competitor analysis, market positioning analysis, and user behavior analysis; Improving bid management in Google, MSN, Facebook, DSP and other auctions through statistical modeling and automation development; Managing bids by developing cost optimization models that use instant and historical data showing ad components with the highest profit margins; Analyzing data from in-house platform to conduct economic analysis showing KPIs affecting performance of more than 300 different ads running on each traffic source hourly; Conducting data analysis outlining major trends in competitor behavior on impression auctions, using such analysis to determine our daily bidding process on each traffic source; Using econometric time series models to determine optimal targeting for ads on sites, exchanges, age groups, geographies, and household income levels; Conducting quantitative and qualitative market research to help guide stakeholders towards an ever evolving and sustainable competitive advantage; Collaborating with analytics counterparts to identify synergies in operations and general knowledge sharing across the organization; Analyzing the accuracy and relevance of statistical models built and managed by the Data Science department and providing guidance on incorporating factors that accommodate nuances across online traffic sources; Designing multiple variant experiments to improve performance and help drive strategic thinking about how to evolve current programs and select new extraordinary online marketing opportunities available to the company; and Collaborating with managers to plan for quantitative analysis, clarify objectives, identify potential issues, and resolve problems as they arise. Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Mathematics, or closely related field.
