The School of Science and Mathematics at Emporia State University (ESU) invites applications for a visiting instructor position in statistics.
The two-year appointment will begin in August 2024, with the possibility of renewal.

Teach undergraduate mathematics and statistics courses including general education courses.
Support the math general education director and supervise graduate teaching assistants.
Participate in student recruitment activities.
Engage in appropriate service activities within the university and the community. This should include organizing some outreach programs for K-12 students.
A graduate degree (master’s level or higher) in statistics or related fields.
At least one year of college teaching experience in the U.S.
Ability to teach general education courses (for example: Elementary Statistics, College Algebra) and other undergraduate statistics courses (for example: Introduction to Probability and Statistics, Introduction to Biostatistics).
Ability to work with graduate teaching assistants.
A strong commitment to working on recruitment and outreach activities and serving on assigned committees.
M.S. or Ph.D. in statistics.
Strong evidence of independence and excellence in teaching in university-level statistics courses and general education courses.
Experience in supervising graduate teaching assistants.
