The Department of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences of Marquette University invites applications for a tenure-track position in the broad area of Foundations of Data Science and AI at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin in August 2025. Subfields include mathematical or statistical machine learning, topological data analysis, geometric data analysis, causal inference, optimization, data-driven modeling, uncertainty quantification, applications of novel AI methodology. Candidates with research in other areas of mathematics or statistics with a similar data-driven emphasis will be considered and are encouraged to apply.
Preference will be given to those who demonstrate the ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses, those who can actively participate and contribute to our Ph.D. program in Computational Mathematical and Statistical Sciences, and those whose research record demonstrates potential for establishing an externally funded research program.
