The Department Chair serves as chief administrative and academic officer of the department and is appointed by the Dean of Natural Sciences. The Chair is expected to provide visionary leadership for 19 faculty members, including 14 tenure track and 5 non-tenure track faculty and instructors, conducive to excellence in research, teaching, and outreach.As chief representative of the department, the Chair is expected to be an individual of demonstrated scholarship, actively engaged in research, who effectively represents the department to the University and the Statistics community at large.
